Interdisciplinary Treatments

Interdisciplinary dentistry can be defined as dental treatment that involves the use of more than one type of dentistry, often for patients with complex cases that require different specialties and techniques.

  • Prosthodontics
  • Restorative dentistry
  • Orthodontics
  • Endodontics
  • Periodontics
  • Oral surgery
  • Implantology
  • Specialists for craniomandibular functional disorders
  • Specialists for myofunction disorders

Clear Aligners have been used as part of an overall treatment plan and in conjunction with different specialties and techniques to treat complex cases that present with conditions requiring the use of these additional specialties to obtain treatment goals. While clear aligners have been used in interdisciplinary treatments, it's important to understand that these are considered complex cases and should not be treated unless the clinician has specifically trained and is experienced with these techniques.
