Comprehensive Orthodontics

Skeletal Malocclusions

It is important to determine skeletal or dental expansion

Skeletal expansion is expanding the maxilla palatal suture normally by using a palatal expander so that the bottom and upper teeth will fit together better.

Dental expansion is widening the alveolar process and dental arch.

Expansion is a common method for creating space.
